HI THERE, I’M ALYSSA!
I’m so glad you ended up here.
I have a firm belief that making photographs is what I’m meant to do – but it took me a little while to see that.
I started out my career as a social worker because I’m drawn to people and their stories. I have a heart for people, and I wanted to be near those who were hurting and help make the hurt a little lighter.
Eventually, I started to get weighed down by all the pain and realized I needed to focus on the beautiful stories too. So, I picked up my camera and started to pay attention to the good around me – the newly engaged couple who can’t contain their excitement, a soon-to-be mom with a heart full of anticipation, the impossibly small newborn in their parents’ arms.
And I realized something: whether someone is enduring their worst days or celebrating their best, we all just want to be seen and known and loved.
Aside from looking in the mirror occasionally, we don’t really see ourselves, you know? We don’t see how our nose scrunches when we laugh or the way our eyes seem to sparkle when our partner is telling a story.
But as your photographer, I see you. I see the way you look at them, the goosebumps that erupt when they touch you, the way your shoulders relax when they hold you.
When I photograph you and your story, I get to remind you of who they are – someone who is beautiful and valuable and loved.

I find inspiration in togetherness, genuine connection, natural light, windblown hair, tear-filled eyes, crinkled bed sheets, vulnerability, foggy mornings, human interaction, rainy afternoons, poetry, interior design, gardening, backyard parties and friends laughing around a table. I find beauty in everything – the big moments and the mundane.
AT THE VERY HEART OF MY WORK ARE TWO THINGS:
honesty and beauty
I strive to photograph real moments and feelings of togetherness in a beautiful and artistic way. Photographing who you really are and making it art requires openness and trust from both of us. I promise that I will be myself around you, and I want you to know and feel that you can be yourself around me! All of my clients are so beautifully different and unique, and it’s my favourite part of my work. I’m here for all of it – the big displays of affection and the quiet kind of love, the seriousness and the silliness. I promise to celebrate who you are, and I ask that you trust me to give you real, honest, stunning images – the photographs you deserve. When we both trust each other, magic happens, I promise.

Thank you for reading this and getting to know me!
I’ll be the first to say that I’m not the photographer for everyone, and I think that’s a good thing! But I am the perfect photographer for some. If you’re looking for something a little more posed and professional, that’s probably not me! But for those who want an honest and artistic approach to their photos, I’m your girl! If what I’ve talked about has resonated with you, I would love it if you reached out and inquired about your photos!
